A lot can happen in 8 weeks

Published: Fri, 10/23/15

8 weeks today I'm heading of to Nepal to trek to Everest Base Camp over Christmas and New Year.

I'm just a little bit excited.

8 weeks today will also be the end of our Team Achieve bootcamp year, to celebrate we go out for breakfast with our members; past and present.

That also means that there is only really 8 weeks left of the year to get in shape for Christmas.

A lot can happen in 8 weeks.

You could change your body shape massively, it's possible to lose about 2 stone if weight is your goal.

Easily drop 2 clothes sizes if shape is your goal.

8 weeks is long enough to get fit.  You can make big changes to how your body functions from a strength and cardiovascular point of view.

In reality, all of those things combine to improve your health.  Our ultimate goal at Team Achieve.

We want all of our members to feel fantastic.  Bounce out of bed each morning and not struggle to open their eyes or creak as they move.

You could feel that way this side of Christmas.

Too many people write off this part of the year; making it harder to get going in the New Year and moving the goal posts further away by gaining weight and reducing their fitness with the saying 'I'll start with everybody else in January'.

Take responsibility and make a head start.

A friend of mine has started exercising recently to get ready for a challenge in April.  He could have left it until the New Year but has started out slowly.

He hasn't exercised for a very long time and needed to take it easy and build slowly.  We've written him a specific plan that he can stick to and achieve while he's travelling.

We started to by setting a challenge that scared him a little, then put some 'skin' in the game.  He bought a pair of trainers and signed up for the event.

Having just a little money on the table made him commit to the goal.  If he hadn't done that, he would have fallen in to the 'New Year' crowd.

We see it regularly.  Members tell us that they are going to exercise on their own for a while. They do for a couple of weeks then find excuses not to go.

Paying a membership with us keeps them accountable.  If they don't attend we ask why, it keeps the motivation up and their fitness improves.

During the month of November, we will be running a daily challenge for fitness.  To take part we only want a £10.00 donation to our Movember fund - http://mobro.co/teamachieve. There will be a private Facebook group for the challenge.

We are also offering men the opportunity to take part in next months bootcamp for only £30.00; again a donation to the Movember fund.

That's a saving of nearly £70.00.  No clauses apart from being a man.

In previous years there was the requirement to grow a Moustache but I can;t do that this year, so I think it's infer to make the team do it.

Obviously, growing a Mo will be appreciated and helps raise awareness of male health issues.

Let me know if you need any more details.
