It all went pear-shaped yesterday.
We're having our kitchen refitted this week and everything was moving along really well and taking shape, until yesterday.
Our fuse board is in a position that doesn't fit the original plan or design. It's wider than the cupboard, too close to the hood (as in where the hood should be) and the
hob will be under it.
We hadn't considered the fuse board when we were looking at Kitchen designs, it was already in a cupboard, we didn't think to measure it. Too late when everything is sitting in the lounge waiting to go.
We've come up with a new plan, that we think will work.
Then the dishwasher arrived, ready to slot in to place. The problem being that the dishwasher needs to fit flush with the wall.
The plug socket for that doesn't let that happen.
It meant last night I had to undo the work that our builder had done, remove a cupboard and move the socket. Everything is sorted now, it just took an evening away from the other jobs I had planned.
These are just bumps in the road, we'll ultimately get our kitchen finished and it will look nice or I'll cry :)
The same happens when trying to lose weight or get
fit.
Everything will be running smoothly, the diet will be going to plan and then an invite to a party or restaurant will arrive for that weekend.
If you are in control of your diet, you simply make a little detour.
A detour can speed things up, sometimes it slows things down (especially when driving around Coventry).
However, as long as you keep moving consistently towards your goals
it really doesn't matter. It's not something that you should beat yourself up about and write the rest of the day/week/month off for.
Having a piece of chocolate or a few biscuits don't really matter in the big picture of your health. Be consistent most of the time and you can cope with bumps in the road.
If you would like help with strategies to cope with those bumps, we are here to help.
