We're in the business of getting people results, we set them and then achieve them.
Set some new ones then achieve them too.
We're really good at it.
As a result, our clients and members have achieved some amazing things that they didn't believe when they started were possible for 'someone like them'.
And like our
members we sometimes focus too intently on the goal.
On Thursday, we went out for dinner in Coventry with some friends and clients. One of whom happens to have summited the 7 highest peaks on all 7 continents, he has many more mountain strings to his bow and is also a world leading vascular surgeon.
We picked his brain about my upcoming trek up a hill in Nepal.
He gave us some great advice regarding medication, toilet
procedures, food, currency, the horrendous landing on the mountain and drinking water.
However, the best piece of advice that he gave us and something that I try to remind our members of was to enjoy the journey.
Chris pointed out that although we're only trekking to base camp, that is still pretty high and altitude sickness is likely to cause a problem. There's also a chance that we will not all make it if we rsh things.
Taking our time
and enjoying the journey will make success more likely.
We get our clients great results quickly but those who truly listen to us, take their time, are present for their journey and understand that it is a constant journey to amazing health rather than a quick trip around the fat loss block.
It's a good time of year to take stock on what you have achieved in the last 12 months.
Write a list.
Reward the
wins.
Assess why the loses happened and decide if you want to try for that goal again. Don't beat yourself up about the things that didn't go according to plan, life happens.
Starting thinking about what you want to achieve in 2016 and again write it down.
If you need our help, we're here and can help you choose your destination and enjoy your journey on the way.
In fact, we're changing the way we do things at Achieve
Bootcamp at the start of 2016.
I'll let you know more tomorrow.
