We're about to enter silly season in the health an fitness profession.
January sees people the world over start on new regimes to get themselves in to shape.
While we appreciate the influx of new people in to our business but there tends to be less commitment than those that join at other times of the year.
They tend to be
in it for the quick fix, there are exceptions of course. We set up Achieve Bootcamp in Coventry 7 years ago later this month with some trial sessions followed by a starting block in January and some of our original members are still with us now.
They like the way we do things and are an integral part of our Team Achieve.
Over the past few years we have ran an 8 week challenge to encourage commitment for a little while longer, the result often being better
results and the members taking on the exercise lifestyle for a much longer period. Sometimes they stick with us, sometimes we help guide them to other companies or activities that suit their needs more.
We often start on the very first Monday of the New Year, my thought being that if people are committed to achieving they will make it.
However, our programme is about total lifestyle and not just fitness. That puts too much pressure on our embers so
early in the year to get everything 'right', set up their kitchens, get rid of the crap from the cupboards, find time to exercise etc.
This year, we are focusing on getting the basics right and following a journey (as I mentioned yesterday).
We're going to start the nutrition part of the plan as usual on Monday 4th January 2016. You will be guided through the basics of our nutrition plan, day by day with only a little movement preparation and mobility
during the first week.
It will give you time to get your head around eating well and preparing meals.
Our fitness blocks will then start on Monday 11th January 2016; we will have 4, 8 and 12 week blocks available.
I'll post more details tomorrow afternoon.
