The whole world is focussed on diets, fitness and losing weight at the minute.
Gym car parks are heaving with newbies beasting themselves to lose a few pounds to feel better about the excesses of the Christmas holiday.
The thing nobody talks about is what happens when you have lost weight.
Your
clothes don't fit, so you have to find the funds to buy new ones unless you have a section of the wardrobe specifically for fluctuations in the waist department.
That's still a pleasure experience though not a painful one.
Over Christmas, I was trekking in Nepal to Everest Base Camp; overall we covered about 90 miles at altitude.
Before the trek, I purposely gained some weight, I was worried about a lack of food on the
mountain and how cold it was going to be.
As the trek went on, I lost a few inches from around my waist, not a problem at all.
My trousers slipped down a little as I walked, again no major issues.
Until later that night when we stopped, my inner thighs were burning. My trousers were no longer in the best place to reduce friction and I had some major chaffing going on.
The next
morning, I yanked my belt tight and that seemed to help for a few hours but ultimately the rubbing happened again, more burning.
The next morning I left my overnight thermals on, brilliant idea. They were tight and protected the area that was chaffed.
Unfortunately, it was a mild day and I felt like my legs were being melted :)
Our members at bootcamp, don't cover the milage I did in Nepal so chaffing isn't their
problem when their trousers become lose.
Walking around like a hip hop gangster teenager is their problem. Cool when you're in the hood, not so cool when you're talking to your boss and your knickers are on show (this haas happened).
