In the Western world we have wrongly given being selfish a negative slant.
When we say that somebody is selfish, we never see it as a good thing.
However, if we gave a little more time to ourselves, to be selfish, we would have more to give to others.
All to often we say yes to others at the expense of time
we had planned to look after ourselves.
How often have you planned to take some time out to chill, go to the movies or the gym and ended up doing something for somebody else instead?
It seems to be our default setting. Parents are the worst for not giving themselves time.
I want you to try and be a little more selfish with your time. Do something for yourself at least once per week, I did only say a little
more selfish ;)
It could be anything that is purely for you; it could be indulgent like having an hour in the bath or heading out on your bike
on Sunday morning.
Stress is a major factor in our modern lives and
can reduce the effectiveness of any diet or fitness plan you are trying to follow. Having sometime out for yourself can help reduce stress and kick-start the results you’re aiming for.
This week our ABC’s class starts again, the class is designed to help you finish the week in a better place, reducing stress and leaving your body feeling great.
Fran is also starting a new Pilates class tonight in Bulkington
at 7.45pm, another chance to give your body something back rather than punishing it in the gym.
If we keep taking from ourselves and our body’s we
will eventually breakdown and have less of ourselves to give. Be more selfish and pay attention to your needs so you have the ability to give more.
