When did you last exercise?
There's a report in The Times today that millions of people in the UK have not exercised in the last 10 years. As with all of these reports the headlines need to be taken with a pinch of salt.
However, it did get me thinking about the reasons why people don't exercise.
Time is the most common answer I hear.
Not knowing what to do.
Being intimidated by gyms.
Being worried that they might be the biggest or most unfit at the group.
All are valid concerns, all can be easily and quickly felt with.
Exercise doesn't need to take a long time. Our home bootcamp sessions are a maximum 30 minutes long, our
outdoor sessions are done within 45 minutes.
It's not necessary to go to the gym or run for hours to improve your health. You don't need to train like an athlete to get results.
We specialise in helping normal busy people improve their fitness, get healthy and feel great.
Our members know exactly what they need to do at all times. We support them with any transitions and struggles they have around food
and adding activity in to their lives.
Getting out and walking around the block counts as exercise, you don't need to complicate it with equipment and crazy DVD's. In fact, one of my friends wanted to get fit recently and we started him on walking around the block and gradually increasing the time and pace that he walked at.
Not knowing what to expect is one of the major causes of feeling intimidated in a gym or workout environment.
If you are thinking of joining us and have any concerns, please give us a call or email to talk them through.
