Our doggies have totally different characters and attitudes to how they tackle tasks.
Something as simple as getting into my truck shows this.
Poppy breaks the task down and uses the step up to the footwell then jumps from there onto the seat. She follows the same path on the way down.
Daisy just
launches herself at the seat, sometimes she doesn't quite make it. She's lost a little power since her knee op a few years back. She's never deterred though and still goes for it each time.
As humans, we loosely break down in to the same characters.
Some of our members arrive and tell us that their goal is to lose 8 stone and they start the plan fully committed, knowing that it might take 12 months.
Others
arrive with the same goal but break it down in to portions, they aim to hit a set target every 3-4 weeks and don't focus on the main goal as it seems too far away and a little intimidating.
I spoke to somebody this morning who was worried about committing to our 8 week transformation.
Explaining it from Poppy's point of view, it's simply two lots of four weeks or even four lots of two weeks.
Don't be put off
from committing to your goal by the language used to describe it. I know so many people who would love to run a marathon but are scared by the immensity of the distance.
Breaking it down in to blocks of distance and training targets makes it seem more achievable.
I personally tend to pick a goal and go for it without worrying about the bit in the middle. Sometimes it works, sometimes I'm totally unprepared but I quite like
the challenge of that :)
Fran has a Poppy approach and likes to break everything dow week by week, day by day. That approach really helps us with nutrition and certainly shopping because we know exactly what we need to get in.
Rather than the calorie/goodies basket explosion that happens every time I go food shopping on my own.
Are you more of a Dasiy or a Poppy in your approach.
