Egg & Chips most nights

Published: Fri, 02/05/16

As you know, I was trekking in Nepal over Christmas with one of my coaching clients.

As we were reaching higher up the mountain, I started to suffer the effects of altitude sickness in myself.  I was getting intense headaches when my pace was anything over a bible and I was feeling a little nauseous most of the day.

There was more food available than I thought there would be and a good variety.

My client chose to have egg and chips most nights, one of the other trekkers found it strange that I 'allowed' it.

A personal trainer allowing his client to have egg and chips for dinner.

Our aim at Team Achieve is to help our clients to find a way of eating that works for them long term.  Here was enjoying the egg and chips and rocking it at altitude.

I didn't see the need to change it when it was working so well for him.  The amount of vegetables available wasn't great, which is the only thing I would have like us both to have more of.

The potatoes were grown on the mountain and the chickens were running around outside; the food was fresh, nutritious and pretty tasty.

Now we're back to sea level and not trekking at altitude for 6-8 hours per day; we've gone back to a more balanced approach to nutrition and weight loss.

While we were high (altitude not drug induced) though it was important to just get the calories in.

Egg and chips worked for him.

We encourage our members to find what works for them and help them fit that in to an active lifestyle.

Obviously I'm biased towards The Real Food Plan but we have members on most of the popular diet methods out there and we help them to make it work more effectively for them.
