I'm a creature of habit.
Some say a slight control freak and maybe a little OCD-ish.
Monday mornings are good for me, yesterday's was great. A stunning sunrise at my first bootcamp, a nice dog walk around St Nicholas Park before my second followed by a bumpy bike ride around the countryside.
My usual routine does;t include the bike ride, I usually head straight home from Warwick; which is what I did.
I
was on auto-pilot and made it a couple of miles in the wrong direction before I realised. I had simply taken my usual route without really thinking about it.
How many times have you done the same?
Auto-behaviours can make a massive difference when trying to get fit or lose weight.
I automatically go to the kitchen at my Mums and Fran's Mums house and look for a little snack.
I have a friend who doesn't know
that there is a way to pay for petrol without going past the Minsters stand.
Reaching for sweet foods when upset or grabbing a few biscuits to go with a cup of tea.
Habit can be difficult to break, it's something we help our members with during their first 28 days.
We focus more on forming new habits rather than simply trying to break poor choices.
It's much easier to form a new habit than to try and break an existing
one, particularly if you don't really want to break it.
How many people do you know have tried to stop smoking for somebody else only to start again after a few weeks or months?
It has to be a change YOU want to make, if it is, we're here to help.
