Over the past couple of weeks I've been trying a more relaxed version of The Real Food Plan.
I'm generally a 'do or do not, there is no try' kind of guy. I can follow things 100% but struggle with anything less.
I'm not alone.
I've had quite a few guys in for injury treatments recently who are similar.
They are dialled in on their nutrition when their training is
going well but as soon as they got an injury that prevented them from training, all nutrition plans went out the window and a diet of pizza and ice cream took precedent.
This is common and not just for guys.
As you might have guessed though, it is totally against logic of what you should actually do.
When training isn't what you would like it to be that is when you should focus on nutrition.
Nutrients help us heal
quicker.
It doesn't mean you have to be perfect all of the time if you are not training or at anytime for the matter.
The pressure of trying to stay 'on it' all the time can lead to unconscious 'stress / habit' eating.
I'm playing around with a few things at the minute and will let you know how they go. I seem to have a better grasp of 'moderation' than I usually do.
Although this hot weather is wiping me out and
leading to a little too much ice cream to help me cool down.
Purely medicinal ;)
