Chris Evans has stepped down from being the lead man on Top Gear.

I know some people this will be pleased; others that, like me, will think it's a shame.

I like Chris Evans, I like Top Gear.  I loved the new line up.

I liked the way the humour wasn't about knocking somebody down or belittling anyone.  The team seemed to be genuinely excited about cars and in helping each other in the challenges.

Don't get me wrong, I also enjoyed the sarcasm of Clarkson et al but the constant putting others down was just starting to grind my gears.

It happens a lot in life in general.  People make themselves feel better by berating those around them.

I heard a quote a long time ago that really resonates with me:

"There are two ways to have the tallest building in town. One is to tear everyone else's building down, and the other is to build your building taller." -Jim Rohn (US Author 1930-2009)

I think we need to start focussing on helping others to build their biggest buildings (themselves) and by doing so that gives you the perfect foundation to build your own building taller (yourself).

There is so much negativity in the world and it is often celebrated, I want to try and focus on the positives in the world.

I want to focus on the things I can have an affect on and make them better.

My aim is to have a positive affect on the health, both mental and physical, of everybody who I come in to contact with.

I'm not always successful but I will keep trying.

I have times when I'm negative, I then seek out those people or activities that pull me back from the 'dark side'.

A little task I set my coaching clients is to write down 3 things each evening that have been positive that day.

It sounds simple and it is.

Until you try and do it.  So many people struggle to find 3 things that have happened during the day that were good.

We're conditioned by the media to see the negatives.  Look at how the world was going to end if we remained in the EU and it was also going to end if we left.

It doesn't seemed to have ended yet.  Unless you are a leader of a political party, they seem to be dropping like flies and nobody predicted that.

Learn to create your own energy and positivity, that way you are in control of your outlook on life and not somebody with an agenda.

As I said yesterday, life is for living and we need to do more of that.
