I was listening to a podcast while I walked the dogs this morning about mindset and the stories we tell ourselves.

It made me think about our upcoming bootcamp and the back to basics theme we always run in September.

We have coached so many people who join wanting to lose weight and have tried pretty much every diet out there, yet are often heavier after a couple of months than when they started.

They feel like they aren't successful at losing weight.

However, I realised this morning as I was walking down the Coventry canal, that they are the most successful at weight loss.

On average they lose about 14lbs on their diet and then gain that back again with a couple of extra pounds.

They do the same again the next time, sometimes dieting as often as 3 times per year; I know many people say they are on permanent diets but tend to only take it seriously a few times per year.

In total that's 36lbs weight loss in the year.

Do that for a decade, which is quite common in the dieting community and you've hit nearly 26 stone.

Pretty impressive.

I've spoken to any women who have been on the diet rollercoaster for nearly 30 years, being conservative; they have probably lost at least 30 stone from dieting.

Weight loss isn't the problem, weight maintenance is.

That's where we need a paradigm shift.

Your daily food shouldn't be about losing weight it should be about nourishing your body to perform any tasks you want it to.

That way you are focussed on the maintenance of your body and not on the short term goal of weight loss.

Many of our members have gone on to become fitness and nutrition coaches themselves as they gained so much information on our plan that they felt great and wanted to spread the message.

Never go on another diet, just focus on being the best version of you you can be and adjusting your intake to suit your needs.

If you need our help getting back in to shape or making a fresh start, our next block of bootcamp starts on next Monday 5th September 2016.
