I nearly slept in this morning, that
opportunity doesn’t happen very often. The boy is generally up and ready around 5-5.30am.
He had a nose bleed during the night and was pretty restless for a bit, which led to his uncharacteristic “late” start.
My “back up” alarm is set for 5.50am, it didn’t go off. I hadn’t noticed my watch battery was low before bed and it switched off.
A woke us up and I didn’t pay attention as my alarm hadn’t gone off
yet. Fran then pointed out it was 6.20am.
A quick dash for teeth brushing, getting dressed and boiling the kettle for my 6.30am session.
We must have all needed the rest, the kids had Judio which gives them a late night, I read pretty late and we had a really busy weekend.
If my watch battery hadn’t ran out, I would have had 30 minutes less sleep.
I think I probably would have had a
little more too.
We all fit so much in to our lives, that some times we forget the importance of simply switching off and allowing our body to get the rest that it needs.
If that luxury isn’t available to you, it certainly isn’t to us. A 10-20 minute Power Nap / yoga nidra / NSDR session can really give you a boost.
Try not to go over 20 minutes though as it can really affect the quality of sleep you get that
evening.
