Last week on holiday, our boy A finally conquered his fear of water.
Since the kids moved in 8 years ago, we’ve been working on building their confidence and mindset from previous experiences.
18 months ago, A put his face under water for the first time. Since then he’s been able to jump in to the pool in his lessons.
He was still really nervous about the sea, waves taking him under or splashing him and water slides.
On holiday, we went to an amazing place called Blue Lagoon in Pembrokeshire, they do the Red Bull cliff diving championships there. It’s a protected space from the waves and he got used to swimming with his face in.
When we went round to the main beach where the waves were crashing a bit and him and K got straight in
and had a wave diving session, I was so proud.
During the week we’d also been on the water slides, even the dark ones and without goggles on.
As the week went on, he pushed himself more and on the last day swam underwater with no goggles and opened his eyes.
Your goals are achievable, they just might take a bit longer than you think. Consistency of effort and exposure to the right stimulus will
pretty much guarantee it.
Any goal will be easier if you surround yourself with people who will support you.
We can help with that.
