We had an amazing afternoon at Warwick Castle
today.
We caught the end of the Falconry show when we first got there, found some shade under a tree to watch the Trebuchet performance, had a chat with a friend who happens to be a bowman at the castle and then learnt more about Tudor history in 30 minutes than I did in total at school.
Admittedly, at school they didn’t have access to jousting poles, horses, pyrotechnics or sword choreography.
I know some amazing
teachers and it must be even harder now that our kids are so used to getting their entertainment in 20 second chunks.
The same is true in the health and fitness industry, people with great physiques selling 20 second snippets of how they achieved them, making it look exciting and easy.
And it can be a lot easier if you actually enjoy the process. It’s why I write about trying as many different types of exercise as you can, going with
friends, joining groups etc.
If it’s not boring, it’s easier to stick to. The kids are already asking when we’ll go back. The fact that “Dad’s friend”, can shot an arrow across a moat and hit a target might have something to do with it.
Make your fitness journey as enjoyable as you can.
