Consistently working on the subjects of the last 7 days will improve your health and “wellness” dramatically.
To take it a step further, you can add in some breath work and focus on mindset.
You don’t need to go all Wim Hof forceful on breath work, although I do like his stuff and go through phases of doing it.
My most consistent method is box breathing when I get in the cold bath. It simply means inhaling, holding, exhaling and holding, each for four seconds.
I find it helps me focus and the app on my watch does a 6 minute cycle which is perfect for a cold dip.
I also like extended exhales, exactly as it sounds, inhaling for 4 and exhaling for anything between 8 and 20 seconds. I find that really calms my system quickly.
Mindset wise, I find question led journaling works really well for me. Although, I have to admit I’ve really struggled to be consistent with it over the past month.
If journaling sounds a bot too woo for you, simply writing down three things you did each day that could be considered a win / highlight.
They don’t have to be impressive to anybody else. Mine for today are:
1. I
completed my physical, 1 mile walk, 1 mile run and trained with Dean.
2. My mum ate all of her lunch and finished a full glass of squash while we were there.
3. I’ve prioritised writing this email and making some bread over playing Tomb Raider.
Some days they might be more impressive, other days other people would wonder why any of them would be considered a win.
It is for any body else,
it’s for you as a reminder that you are achieving something each day.
Give them a go and as always if you need a little help, we’re here for you.
