Fran tweaked her neck earlier and asked me to take the online bootcamp session. I used to take it every week, up to four times a week but haven’t done a single session over the last few months as I was taking the boy to judo.
It was week 1 and I felt it in a way I shouldn’t have felt week 1.
Your fitness improves very specifically to
the fitness you train. I’m generally pretty fit, I have been enjoying my mile run and walk every day, I can do a few pull ups and still kick at head height.
I just haven’t trained for bootcamp, I’m going to add that style of training in to my week again. I remember how great the sessions used to make me feel.
If you have a specific fitness need, you need to train specifically for that.
However,
it’s important to have a good base level of total body fitness and strength.
On a side note, our kids watched somebody doing the splits on TV and asked if we could do that when we were young. Not ready to be pushed in to the old category I said I could probably still do it now if I trained for it.
Fran waged a bet that she could get there first, the kids think they can. Fran thinks I’ll have to give up because when I focus on
flexibility my hips feel like they are falling apart and I always feel injured. She doesn’t understand the suffering I will go through to win the £100.00.
Although, K has already done two stretch sessions today 🥰
