It’s much easier to do something if you enjoy it, if it’s fun.
We don’t miss the things we like to do.
Therefore, if you want to do something consistently find a way to make it more enjoyable. I’ve already mentioned martial arts this week but I find it easy to get out of the house on cold nights to go to BJJ because I know I’ll have
fun when I’m there. Learning some cool stuff and improving my fitness is a bonus.
Last night, I got to train with one of my own Kung Fu instructors for the first time in years. One of my clients is off on holiday giving me the opportunity to go.
I really enjoyed it and can feel that it’s been a while since I have done pad work drills with any intensity and contact.
I make run’s more interesting /
enjoyable by putting a podcast on. I strength training with a friend, jabbering is a big part of my work out.
If you have a goal, establish what needs to be done and ask yourself “what would be the fun version of this, what would it look like”?
Including friends, adding a reward, learning a skill, listening to podcasts or great music all make doing the same thing more enjoyable.
Playing around with recipes and
expermenting in the kitchen can make following a food plan more interesting and easier to stick to.
How can you make your goals more fun to achieve?
