Our plans changed this morning due to the weather, which opened up the opportunity for me to have a bit of time to play on the PlayStation with A.
He wanted to go back on Minecraft and start a new world to “Speed Run” through. A speed run is something he’s watched YouTubers do, the aim being to start fresh in a game and going through all of the levels as fast as
you can to get to the end and complete it.
Once we started playing, we ended up going for our default setting of exploring the local area and battling monsters.
The term made me think about what we could do to speed run our health goals for the rest of the year. There are so many people writing the year of because Christmas party season is about to begin.
I’ve already noticed coaches and trainers selling their New Year
programmes.
But we’ve got 5 weeks left, realistically four because Christmas Day is a Wednesday and I’m not a lunatic. Throw in a few nights out and you can still make a massive dent in your health goals, starting off 2025 in a great place.
The very minimum you should aim for is taking a measurement now and aiming not to go up more than 5% before Christmas.
In four weeks, you could complete a couch to 5k plan,
lose 4kg, complete your first full press up, sort out your little niggles and injuries, the list is endless.
Don’t stop what you’re doing because the page changes on a calendar.
