Although, I have been partial to a little twerk š
Thank you for all of the kind messages and support from the news regarding my face surgery. Ā Itās healing well and Iām doing the best I can to follow the advice of keeping my face upright during this first week. Ā
At no point have I nearly done a monkey roll or cartwheel, Iām
grateful to my students that stopped me and reminded me.
Gratitude is something that I think Iām pretty good at but recently noticed I was getting a little moodier with the kids than usual. Ā Sleep hasnāt been great with a lot of wiggling and very early starts and that also has an affect on mood.
If we didnāt have kids my sleep might be better but then we wouldnāt have kids and thatās not a world I want to be in. Ā Iām grateful that
we got the opportunity to adopt and take our kids on, if that leads to some sleep deprivation, I have to accept that and take other steps for recovery.
The tweak Iāve made is to my morning routine, I havenāt got a complicated one with loads of steps.Ā
I wake up get on the shakti mat for 10-15 minutes, I find it
helps free up my lower back and neck.
Do my journal.
Do some movement or get in the cold bath.
I wanted to add a few minutes of gratitude in to my morning, so I simply go through the things that Iām most grateful for while on the mat. Ā I tried while in the cold bath but have to focus on my breathing and get distracted.
Fran and the kids might not agree but I think as a result of doing so, Iām appreciating
them more and making an effort not to kick off.
Is there a space in your day where you could focus on gratitude and appreciation of the things you have?
