Looking at Facebook memories over the last few days has shown when we first went in to lockdown 5 years ago. It’s seems to be forever ago and yesterday at the same time.
Our whole business had to change overnight, everything we did was face to face and then we weren’t allowed to do that.
We got set up pretty quickly to keep our
classes, clients and students moving.
Fran showed me a picture earlier of me teaching in the garden because it was too hot in the cabin.
Bizarrely, I sort of miss my online Kung Fu sessions, we really focussed on the intricacies of the stances and movement patterns of all of the strikes etc. I obviously prefer teaching in real life, it’s much more fun and contact is a necessary part of martial arts.
Being forced online made me up my coaching and communication skills because I couldn’t position the student physically.
Those are skills that will be with me forever and I might never have gained if we didn’t have a lockdown.
At the time, we all saw it as the massive inconvenience it was now with hindsight we should be able to reflect on the benefits we may have gained from it. It confirmed to us, that home schooling was a viable
and necessary option and our kids are thriving as a result.
It’s important to look back at where you started on your current goals occasionally to assess how far you have come or alternatively if you have drifted off course.
Knowing where you have been and where you are going ensure that the goal you are chasing is still important to you.
If you need help picking a goal, the route or methods to measure your success,
we’re here for you.
