Me and the kids went for a rifle shooting session this afternoon. It was brilliant and the kids were really excited to show Fran the bullets they has fired.
The instructor was brilliant at explaining to the kids about which targets they were aiming for and encouraging them whether they hit it or not.
Ensuring that they enjoyed the
experience, irrespective of how many shots they hit.
I’m currently working on my goal for the next quarter and reviewing those from Q1. I didn’t achieve half of the things that I set out to; however, with this afternoons filter fitted, I went in the right direction and enjoyed the journey along the way.
I’m taking that as a win.
It’s also making the focus of Q2’s goals to be on making the process / journey to
each target more enjoyable.
I think we all get caught up in the importance of having a goal and the details of what achieving that means, forgetting to have fun.
I know I personally stick with the habits / foods / exercises that I enjoy. I went to Jiu Jitsu for the first time in about 8 weeks on Tuesday and loved, I don’t need to set a target for attendance because I can’t wait to get back on the mats.
A
couple of timetable restrictions and a broken thumb will slow me down a little this month, then I’ll make my twice weekly classes.
What goals are you working towards at the moment?
Is there a way of making them more fun?
