Our family Saturday night treat is to watch the Gladiators on BBC1; unfortunately, I was away this weekend in London studying and we still haven’t had chance to catch up yet.
Watching the eliminator always made me wonder why these fit people were struggling so much on the rope climb bit, the kids asked if I could do it. Obviously, the answer was yes.
Long story, short. I bought a rope.
Only a little one for the garage, enough to prove a point.
Surprisingly, if you don’t climb a rope for 40+ years you don’t keep the fitness and strength required to climb one 😂
Although in my defence, I was trying to do it without using my legs.
I got off the floor but didn’t progress very far at all.
Without realising it, I’d become one of those internet people who dispel other peoples effort based on a poor understanding of the effort involved.
Although, unlike the keyboard warriors, I put my money where my mouth was to prove my point and failed miserably.
In our modern world it’s easy to put something / someone down or moan without actually trying to understand the process or doing it.
Be a doer. If you are unhappy about something, take action to change it.
Your fitness, waistline, work situation, mindset are all under your control, you simply have to take consistent action.
If you need help putting a plan of action together, we’re here to help.
