Are you still going with your New Year goals?
Apparently, last Friday (the second Friday of January) is known as quitters day. It’s the day that you’re most likely to call it a day on the resolutions.
Maybe because most people didn’t start until last Monday, quitters day will shift to this week.
My
belief is that your goals should be powerful and maybe scary enough that your desire to stick to them outlasts a couple of weeks. We all have slip ups, they don’t have to lead to stopping the whole thing though.
Fran has been in the ice bath every day since her birthday at the start of December and has only missed a couple of days since the start of November.
She was even out there when it was -4°C outside and the water was only
2°C.
Although, she has come home from work feeling really poorly this afternoon, so she will lose her “streak” as the kids say.
Consistency, is the key to achieving all of our goals.
More important than consistency is clarity. Actually knowing what you’re aiming for.
That could be having a programme to follow, it could be having a few nutrition principles to stick to.
You might have an event that you are aiming for.
Find the goal you want to achieve and chip away at it gradually until you get there. By having the target you can move towards it, without the target you could be travelling in the wrong direction.
