We’ve had a really busy week at Dad school.
On Friday, we went to Warwick Castle; it was brilliant as always and they have started their summer programme.
We started with the Falconry show where one of the Sea Eagles decided he wanted to have a chill under a tree rather than soar in the heat. The falconers simply made it part of the show and went to fetch
him.
One of my friends is an actor / bowman and heads the trebuchet show, our kids love watching him get everyone involved in preparing for the launch of the medieval war machine. It is spectacular to see it in action.
Next up was the War of the Roses, a live action retelling of the story with sword battles, axes, jousting and stunts on horses. K loves it and has a real interest no in Tudor history as a result; mainly Henry
VIII getting divorced, cutting heads off and having children.
On Monday, we went back to Harry Potter Studios near Watford. They change the theme regularly and this time it was the Tri-Wizard tournament. If you’re not in to Harry, that won’t mean much but it’s essentially a wizarding competition with dragons, merpeople and lots of special effects.
They have upped the game with audio-visual sections and both kids were engaged
for nearly 5 hours. Which for our two on a third visit is amazing.
When you’re excited and interested in subjects it’s easy to spend time looking at them / studying.
The same is true for health and fitness, if you find a method that is interesting you are more likely to stick with it. Fitness is a side effect of doing the thing you enjoy, that could be going to the gym. For me, it’s doing martial arts. I never
struggle to motivate myself to go and teach my students or get to my jiu jitsu class, I love going and will find a way to get there.
When it comes to diets or eating healthier, find a dish you want to master and stick with it until it’s on autopilot and you’re adding your own flare.
Get five or six of those and you are in an amazing position to it well for the rest of your life.
If you’re not in need any help, we’re
here for you.
