Should be the main reason for any diet or fitness plan; more so as we get a little older.
Over this Easter break of over consumption I’ve noticed my usual energy levels reducing.
I should probably stop checking that the kids chocolate and treats are poisonous before they eat any 😂 They haven’t been poisoned so far though 😉
I’ve spoken to people who have been overindulging and then go on to beast themselves in the gym or on a training session and end up having to use my injury therapy services.
Diet and fitness are interlinked when it comes to having a healthy body but in my opinion should be viewed as completely separate entities,
My advice is - “Follow a food plan that helps your body feel good, that doesn’t have to be 100% clean.
It’s ok to have cakes etc, just at a level that fits in with your energy needs. Exercise should be done to help your body feel good, find something that you can do consistently that leads to you being at least slightly breathless and feel some muscles working”.
If you’re over 30, it’s unlikely that you will be able to out train poor food choices from an intensity and recovery perspective.
Don’t get me wrong, I love to train
hard and push my body; I’m just aware that I need more recovery than I did when I was in my bulletproof 20’s. And a handful of liquorice allsorts a day means the scales don’t change in the direction I’d like them too.
If you’re need some help understanding how to get the best from your nutrition and fitness plan, let me know.
