I apologise for the lateness of my email today, I didn't want to miss a day of the email every day of Lent challenge Fran set me.

Like most people in Coventry today, I spent a lot of time in traffic and it has put my day behind a little.

My longest journey was 90 minutes to travel 6.5miles.

I missed my swim session as a result, my black belt students had to teach the first part of my class.

However, I didn't get mad about the traffic, I just used it as a time to listen to the radio and a bit of my audiobook.

Getting angry wouldn't have made the traffic move quicker, it would have just made me drive erratically and kick off at other who were also stuck in the same situation.

I can't believe how many people I saw with road rage, there is absolutely nothing to be gained.

There were a few minor accidents, where drivers were vying for position to put them one car ahead, not really worth the hassle and ultimately putting them further back.

All over something that was beyond their control.

Nothing can be gained in those situations; yes it is frustrating but look on the bright side.  You're not the person in the air ambulance or operating table that caused the M6 to be closed and the subsequent traffic chaos.

We need to take time to appreciate the things we have in life and the time we have with our friends and family.

It can all change so quickly.
