It's
Friday, it's sunny outside, it's the weekend.
F**k it, blow the diet off and have some fun.
Then moan about how sh!t you feel on Monday morning on Facebook. And how none of your clothes fit you on Friday morning on Twitter.
We see this happen every week, there's not an easy answer to it. Other than it really doesn't matter.
If you need to let off steam at the weekend and party
like it's 1999. Go for it. My objection is about the constant moans and whines that people are not hitting their goals.
Last weekend, Fran and I went out and had a few beers with friends. A couple joked, is that pint "clean".
You don't have to be "clean" 100% of the time. You can go out and have a few beers, make some bad food choices and enjoy your life. Life is for living.
You just
need to accept responsibility for your actions. If you are not achieving your goals as quickly as you want to, there's a good chance you know why. We used to get moody with our members who didn't follow our advice 100%, why would they ask for our help and then blatantly ignore it.
I used to take it personally, part of our money back guarantee was to be our friend on Facebook, so we could spy on what they did at the weekend and report back to them about why
they weren't achieving. Like party police.
We added to the stress of trying to eat well and exercise, rather than made it easier to follow a healthy lifestyle.
We've learnt a lot since those days. Now we simply guide our members around their best options. We want them to win in the long term, not just achieve a quick result for the website.
I struggle, as I have mentioned many times before. Yoda
told me "do or do not, there is no try" and unfortunately that has led to me either being the best at eating clean or the best at eating cheesecake with very little space in between.
I'm gradually getting there and winning the battle to eat well a majority of the time. I'm struggling and I've written books on nutrition.
As Bruce Lee said "knowing is not enough, you must apply".
It's hard though, there is
always something to trip you up and send you on the wrong path.
So what do you do?
Roll with it. If you can't be perfect it doesn't matter, do the best you can in the place where you are right now. If the best you can do at the moment isn't getting you the result you desire then seek help from somebody that knows what they are doing.
They can help you make small changes that may have a big impact.
Obviously, I'm going to be biased here and tell you that we offer this service ;)
We help people find the method that works for them that fits in to our principles on nutrition - which are to eat foods as close to as nature intended as your main intake, drink clean water regularly throughout the day and learn to breathe effectively.
We're out again this weekend. A wedding tonight and a Spanish themed party tomorrow night. We're
both working tomorrow, so we'll avoid alcohol but will definitely partake in a slice of wedding cake as I know the person who made it and it will be fantastic.
Tomorrow night, the food will be amazing, lots of tapas option, paella and most importantly churros. I know I will over indulge, I know it won't make me look more like Daniel Craig when I get out of the pool but I also know that I will also enjoy every bite and may even have a couple of
beers.
You have to pick the battles you know you can win, we can help you choose which ones are worth fighting.
