Did you see our Ice Bucket Challenges?

Pretty much my full Facebook feed is people doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge at the minute.  It's really good fun watching the videos.

There have been a few people moaning about it but I haven't got a problem, it is raising awareness of a horrific and debilitating disease.

ALS or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is better known in the UK as MND or Motor Neurone Disease.

Each year, we raise awareness of male cancers and health issues by growing moustaches in Movember, this ice bucket challenge seems to have got a lot more people involved and has raised millions for the charities involved.  Macmillan have also highjacked the challenge in this country too.

Some have an issue with the highjacking, again I haven't.  Macmillan do an amazing job and provided so much support for my Dad during his final few days.  If more people are made aware of them as a service and a charity because we are out there pouring buckets of ice over our heads then fair play.

It certainly has more appeal to me than watching the adverts of people suffering or the people knocking on my door as I'm settled in for the night with a tulsi tea.

I'm not sure there is anybody left on the planet who hasn't been nominated yet so it has certainly raised awareness.

Here are the links to mine and Fran's videos:

Fran didn't want to pour the iced water over herself so I set up a feat of engineering genius using Poppy (our dog) as a pulley system.  Just as we were about to start, Michelle came over to help with the filming :)
