A friend has just sent me a link to an article in The Telegraph about 'that green sh!t you drink'.
Elle 'the body' McPherson has brought out her own greens drink raising the profile of various supplements. Green's drinks aren't a new thing to us at Achieve. Fran and I have been drinking them regularly for about 5 years, we encourage our
members to do so as a kind of nutritional back up plan.
5 years ago, we wanted to add to our health to help with fertility and the nutritionist we saw advised them. There wasn't much choice back then and most tasted like the snot of a tramps hanky. We imported a couple from the States to see if they had better flavours, Fran gagging
at the sink suggested that they didn't.
Things have moved forward on the taste front, I'd still rather have a cheesecake but some are inoffensive. The one that most of our members have found to be reasonable is www.getleanwithgreens.com. It's really high quality and not just packed with fillers to bulk it out.
As with all supplements, if you
take them without making differences to how your body and digestive system works they are pointless. You simply won't absorb the nutrients from them.
Some, like www.getleanwithgreens.com have prebiotics included which helps with digestion. It's the thing that our members notice the biggest difference with once starting a greens drink regularly.
They seem expensive at first but when you add up the cost of a daily
coffee, they are no where near that but add some major health points to your body.
Have a read of the article and see what you think - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/11086742/From-whey-protein-to-spirulina-are-superfood-powders-set-to-be-as-popular-as-the-Paleo-diet.html
It also mentions protein powders
etc which most people really don't need. I'll write more about that another day.
