The secret to success ...

Following on from my post 'how to improve at anything' and consistency being the key.

Today I'm expanding on it.

Get help.

It's good to be consistent and keep going as long as you are heading in the right direction.  It's not showing weakness to ask for help or guidance.

The best personal trainers and coaches I know (and I know some of the best in the world), all have trainers and coaches.  We pay somebody else who knows more than we do to guide us to our goals.

I have mentors in each of the fields I specialise in, they guide me in my learning.  It saves time and I learn the relevant stuff that will help me improve.

I'm the injury therapists for several of Coventry's top personal trainers and I work with their coaches on the best plans to take them from where they are now to where they want to be with minimal injury risk.  Or simply to keep them in one piece if they are in a phase that means they are pushing their body to it's limits.

We refer clients to each other, there is no ego involved when you know what you are good at.  We all focus on the clients we can help the most and pass to each other the ones that we feel would be a better fit for someone  else.

We are all successful in our own fields and are more successful because we help each other out.  I know I can call them for advice with a client without any judgement and they know the same.

It's the same with our Team Achieve members, they know that they can call and speak to us about anything.  Sometimes they feel like the question is silly or feel they should already know the answer but you can't know everything and we set them on the best path for them.

I've heard lots of people discussing getting started in the New Year on their new diet or fitness regime, ask any 'expert' about this and we'd all say - don't wait, get started now.  There's still another 8 weeks left of the year and you can do a serious amount of damage to your waist line in that time.

It's one of the reasons we run our Damage Limitation Bootcamp every December.  We know that our members aren't going to be following our plans to the letter so we guide them on the best way to cheat their way through the month.

Our Damage Limitation Bootcamp starts on Monday 24th November, you can apply to join us here - http://www.achievebootcamp.co.uk/when/application-form/
