Thanks

A wise woman once told me to "accept graciously and give willingly".  It was an amazingly simple sentence that has stayed with me for years.

Today is Thanks Giving in the U.S.A. we don't really have an equivalent but maybe we should; we seem to take on other traditions that are consumer based like Black Friday.  Why not one that is based on giving thanks to those that have helped us.

Give it a go.  Send a text, give a call or send an email to 5 people who have helped you to become who you are or who you are grateful to for something they have done.

I'll get started.

1.  Fran - For being my best friend and tolerating me when others have found me intolerable.  For showing strength, love and kindness through the car crash that has been our last couple of years.
2.  My Mum - She supports me in everything I do without batting an eyelid.  She worries when I take on silly things like the extreme triathlons but then assumes that I might be riding in Le Tour de France.
3.  Dave & Asa - For changing the course of my life.  They were my first 'real' martial arts instructors and gave me the strength (both mentally and physically) to become the person that I am today.
4.  Graham - For being my martial training partner and over the past 25 years, having an amazing Mo every year, providing tasty cakes, a shoulder to cry on, the best bro-hugs and giving me the honour of being a godparent.
5.  Team Achieve and readers of these emails - for putting your trust in us to provide you with the tools to take you closer to your goals.  Every day I see something from Team Achieve that makes me proud, as I was writing this message, this popped up on Facebook and summed it up for me:

So another positive post from me today. My total inch loss since August is 13 1/2 inches and I've also lost 18lbs. Best of all though my BMI is back under 30. I'm making better choices toward food and I'm exercising a lot more and enjoying it all. I'm not doing it because I should or have to but because I want to. Don't get me wrong I still slip up and go of track and make wrong choices but they are getting less and less and I'm learning what triggers that as well learning what foods don't agree with me. My aim for this month is to loose 4lb and get back into the 12 stone group. I know weight isn't everything but it would be nice. Xxx

I could go on all day and my top 5 changing on an hourly basis, I do have attention issues :)
