Everyday there is something new that will make weight loss and exercise easier. The media is full of sensational headlines that promise results with a pill or injection.
Over the weekend, a new drug was featured that when injected daily into the stomach the user could expect to lose around 19lbs over the
course of 12 months.
That's sh!t.
We've had members lose more than 19lbs in 4 weeks and keep it off. They also improved their fitness, their attitude towards food and most importantly took responsibility for the health.
I'm not a massive fan of injections so maybe I'm blowing it out of
proportion. Maybe injecting yourself with a drug daily isn't that much of a hardship.
If you have a medical condition that is preventing you from losing weight than maybe this is an option. However, these medical conditions are much rarer than the people that tell me that they have tried everything, yet have not tried eating real food.
For long lasting results, there needs to be a mindset shift to move away from diet products and back to food based products.
Expense, is often the excuse for not eating healthier - that's crap. We get an organic vegetable box that provides plenty of veg for us both from http://www.fiveacrefarm.org.uk. It costs £7.50 per week.
I have clients that visit Coventry Market, the amount of produce you get in comparison to the supermarkets is amazing.
Admittedly, it takes a little more effort in the preparation etc but you only have one body and it's your responsibility to maintain it and fuel it.
It's time to make a change to your health, the steps are
simple.
1. Take responsibility for the food that you eat.
2. Take responsibility for the amount you move.
3. Repeat 1 & 2 daily.
You don't have to have a perfect diet, just a consistent one that includes mainly real food.
You don't need lots of exercise, just some movement and activity most days. That doesn't mean slogging away for hours in the gym or running miles; it could just be a walk around the block at lunch time or walking up the stairs rather than taking the lift.
Just get started and make small steps each week to add a little more.
