I keep making excuses - emotional eating

Published: Wed, 01/28/15

Fran and I are in the next phase of our adoption journey at the minute, it's going well and everything is moving forward as expected.

There is one major problem I have with it though - me.

I'm over thinking and analysing, planning for what if we don't get through, putting pressure on myself.

As a result I'm slipping on my food plan again, thankfully everything we have at home is pretty good.  I've just noticed that I've been picking up the odd treat on my way home and using the excuse that we're going through a lot.

Fran is too and she is rocking her plan.  I need to put a stop to this slip before it gets out of control.

I'm aware that I'm an emotional eater, mainly when the is uncertainty in what I am doing.  I'll reach for something sweet or chewy.  Many people are the same, it's how we then go on to deal with it that either pushes us further away from our goals or closer to them.

That's why I'm writing this email now, to become accountable.

Some off our Team Achieve members have had tough months too.  However, they are accountable to the Team Achieve Coaches and are rocking it.  They send in their food diaries for us to check, note when they have wavered and get straight back on it.

I'm feeling myself slipping and I'm going to hold myself accountable to the readers of these messages.

I know some people might unsubscribe (the ink lis at the bottom) but I've never claimed to be the perfect trainer who doesn't make mistakes.  I struggle like lots of people to control my weight, I don't really like exercise for the sake of exercises sake.

I do love food, I love sweet treats, I also love the feeling of being fit and strong just not the process of getting there :)

We have a support group that Fran manages on Facebook, I'm going to be more active in there from now on.
