A bit windy

Published: Mon, 04/13/15

Yesterday we went out for a bike ride with some Team Achieve members.

It was pretty damn windy and made the ride much harder work than I was expecting it to be.  I think the wind made the effort equivalent to an extra 10 miles.  It seemed to always be in our faces, no matter what direction we were going in.

Wind generally makes things harder on the diet front too.

If you eat a food and you feel bloated and gassy there's a fair chance it doesn't work for you.

A new member was reading through our preparation phase for our next bootcamp and emailed me today to ask if mushrooms were ok to eat as he couldn't see them on the plan.

The answer is simple, I wrote the plan and mushrooms don't agree with me so when I was putting the sample meal plans together I didn't think of them.

I love mushrooms, especially when fried in lots of butter and some garlic as a topper for steak.  However, they make me really windy and pretty much instantly too.

My chemistry and their chemistry simply don't mix.  So as a general rule I avoid them or only have them when I know being gassy won't be a problem.

It simple.

Yet, so many people get it wrong.

Lots of people complain about feeling bloated and uncomfortable when eating bread but still have toast for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch because it's easy.

If a food isn't working for you, you need to change it.  The bloating is only the outward sign.  You will have other issues associated to eating that too.

From mood swings to skin issues; the food that you eat really does have an effect.

If you want a little guidance on changing the way that you eat we have lots of options, the first being to join our bootcamp, you can apply at www.achievebootcamp.co.uk/application
