In the heath and fitness world everything is over-complicated.
Add the internet to that and it's no wonder that everybody is confused when trying to lose weight or get a little fitter.
You can't just start running; there are tempo's, fartleks, pronators, supinators, pre-fuelling, hill reps and all sorts of other things the internet or your mate at the pub will tell you you need to
do.
Cycling is even worse; chain sets, bonking, carb-loading, granny gears, gps, power meters, tt-bikes, mountain bikes, down hill bikes, road bikes, commuter bikes. Making the choice on the most simple thing of buying the bike to go on is nearly impossible.
Gone are the days when you could just walk out the door and start doing something. Information has overwhelmed us to the point of complicating
everything.
The humble diet of eating a little less has been superseded with hormones, macros, back-loading, carb cycling, paleo and the list is endless when you think about supplementing.
My advice?
Ask an expert for some help. Improving your health is the most important decision you can make, yet most people would rather follow the advice of somebody at the pub who has been to the gym or a slimming club
than actually invest in an expert to help them.
In no other field does this happen.
We get our cars serviced by experts, our teeth fixed by experts.
Our important photographs are taken by experts.
I get lucky every now and again and take a decent picture of some scenery when I'm to walking but I still hired an expert to take pictures of our wedding. An expert said the picture below
had a good composition, I was really chuffed thinking for a second that I was good.
However, blind luck had more to do with it. I was walking the dogs and thought the mist looked pretty, took my phone out and clicked. It turned out well.
A photographer knows their craft, they know what to look for in an image, they get it right a majority of the time. Based on experience and skill rather than blind
luck.
When it comes to your health and your body, take the time to seek out experts who can help you achieve your goals. Yes, you might have to pay for it but the results will show that it was worth it.
You can get great results from free, many readers of this blog have sent me thank you messages about how much they have achieved from reading and APPLYING the information I share.
However, I'd like to point
out that I am an expert in what I do. An expert will make the complicated seem easy and be able to explain it in a way that is easy to follow.
