Thank you for all of the messages of congratulations and support for my Triathlon at the
weekend.
It really was a great event and experience. If it is something you feel like doing, go for it. A few people on this blog are up for doing the event. We can hook you up and
obviously sort out training plans for you.
The beauty of the Long Course Weekend is that you can mix and match distances and do any of the elements you choose to.
So how do you do it to any other event?
You decide you are going to and get some advice from an expert. You then follow that advice consistently and surround yourself with people who
will be supportive of your goal.
It really doesn't matter what your goal is. With the correct advice and the right people around you, you can achieve anything.
You don't need to be a super-human athlete. I'm a normal person, slightly unhinged some would say but I'm certainly no athlete.
I just like doing things that push me mentally and physically and I'm fortunate to
have people around me who support my 'silly f**king' events.
I couldn't achieve half of the things I do without Fran. She pulls everything together, organises our accommodation, sorts out all Team Achieve competitors, plans meals and relaxation time. Basically becomes a bit bossy
and tells everyone what to do.
Nobody has a problem with it though. Everyone at the events we do as Team Achieve, know that she has their back and all of the details are sorted. They just have to turn up and do the business.
I can't thank her enough for looking out for me and the others.
I'm also surrounded by people who support what I do. Mainly because I have encouraged
them to do the same and told them "it will be alright" :)
My belief is always greater than their doubt which in turn turns that doubt in to belief.
And with belief in yourself and the right people around you, you can achieve absolutely any goal you set yourself.
It's why our Team Achieve Bootcamp members are so successful. They join a team of supportive people, the other members, who
want them to do well. We give them everything they need to succeed, they just have to follow the instructions and off they go.
Our summer bootcamp starts in a little over a week, I'll post details about our special offer on Monday.
Let me know if there are any challenges you want to have a crack at, I'd love to know.
Have a great weekend,
Darren 'grateful' Checkley
