Why do some people do really well on their diet and exercise plan to then undo all of the good work with a binge or a blow out?
I've spoken to a lot of people about this in our bootcamps.
Everything is flying along nicely and then without warning - Bam, a weekend on the lash, eating pizza, kebabs and multi-packs of crisps and chocolate.
Sometimes they feel there is a reason, others it just happened.
There are lots of reasons that this happens, way too many for a little blog post.
I'm not convinced that it happens on purpose.
Nobody reaches their target weight or goal and thinks "f@ck
it, I'm going to undo everything I've worked for and eat all of the chips in the shop".
I don't think that it really is self sabotage.
That would suggest a conscious decision to screw it up rather than what generally happens; waking up
in a heap of empty m&m and crisp packets with the dogs licking cheesecake off your beard, or is that just me? ;)
For each person it will be different.
Most commonly, it has nothing to do with the food press but rather that the food is
being used as a coping mechanism. A way of controlling something, by losing control with it.
Something might be off at work or in their relationship; the list is endless.
You may have done the same.
It's one of the reasons we have a coaching aspect to all of our services. The thing is very rarely the thing.
To truly achieve goals, every aspect of your health has to be looked at and on track. That way you mind and your body work hand in hand to achieve.
Torturing yourself over poor choices with food or slogging yourself in to the ground at the gym will only get you so far
If you want to get on track and join us for bootcamps or coaching, there are only 12 week s left to party season; now is a good
time.
